Eeyore's flowers - a finish

I'm a bit excited to have a finished project at last this year. It would help if I didn't keep starting new ones of course, but who can resist?
This small one, 15cm x 11cm (6" x 4 1/2"), has taken me about a month, 'cause I'm a really slow stitcher. Granted stitching time has to compete for attention with reading time but still...

The kit came with 16 count Aida but I know the Debbie Minton kits tend have a lot of fractional stitches, plus there's a lot of empty fabric so I used 32 count Murano instead. I find it much easier to do the fiddly fractionals and I think it looks finer where there's no stitching. I also used antique white instead of the original white. I've got the other three in the set, Tigger, Pooh and Piglet so I got enough fabric for all of them for when I'm in the mood to do the rest

And as if I didn't have enough to be going on with, I've just ordered some nice 28 count Cashel for another project. There is no hope

Post edited to change fabric to Murano from Jobelan as I forgot that the Jobelan wasn't available and I had to be brave and use a 'new to me' fabric instead. I've only been sewing on it for a month - you'd think I'd remember what it was...

He looks great amongst his flowers, a lovely piece of work. Its good too that you have the other 3 to do at some stage.

Its always good to have more fabric on hand especially if you have a project in view so good on you for ordering more. Stash is important.

I went hunting for some 14 cnt aida to do a quick little one on - couldn't find a piece big enough - boo hooo. So a quick trip to the shops soon, our local habby shop has a few packs of aida.

It's The Bookshelf by LHN. I thought I'd start a WIP thread for it when I get the fabric.

Really cute pattern and well stitched. I love Pooh and friends, especially bouncy Tigger. I have some patterns for Christmas decorations featuring them, so must get that out and start working . . . :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:
