Autumnal wedding sampler

I'm trying to find the perfect wedding sampler to stitch as a wedding present for Chris. Obviously it's a bit early yet, but with planning the wedding and the stress of family and moving and everything, I want to start it too early and have it done on time. I also want to stitch it as a surprise.

We're getting married in early autumn/fall and I want the sampler to reflect that as it's going to be the theme of the day. I don't yet know the main flowers we're using, but I want the colours of autumn. Maybe autumn leaves... Can anyone help?

Do you want it to be pure cross stitch or are you OK with other stithes as well? I know I've seen several band samplers in autumnal shades (will try to find them again if you're interested) which could easily be adapted to include your names and the date, but they tend to have speciality stitches and occasionally a bit of Hardanger in them.

You could always arrange motifs from several places to make your own unique wedding sampler... :)

What a lovely idea :applesauce: never too early to start especially if your keeping it secret & can't work on it when he's around :) love Kell's idea of making up your own & really personalising it xx good luck :D :D

I would prefer it to be mostly cross stitch, but I do like other stitches as well.

I'm afraid it may come to that if I don't find something I think he'll like in an Autumn theme.

Are you looking for a traditional or modern design?

I like both to be honest. I just want something that will reflect the day. Something with love and firey colours, full of joy and all about us.
