This is my first HAED that I started a little while ago,
QS Genevieve by Hannah Lynn. Here are the pictures of the few stitches I have so far.
Sorry about the lighting, it's getting dark earlier and earlier.
I just decided to try stretcher bars since my Q-snap didn't maintain the type of tension i was looking for, but even with the help of my mom I couldn't get it as tight as I expected. Can anyone give me tips on how to get it nice and tight, or should I just go look for a scroll frame?

Great work so far!
You might want to go for a scroll frame...

What a lovely design Emily! Nice stitching on it too!! I don't know what to recommend for your stitching--hope you manage to get that figured out soon.

It looks great so far! Thats why I use a hoop. I know that some people dont like them but I love how tight I can get it (and keep it) Cant wait to see the updates!

Great start!!!!
Be aware that a scroll frame will only give you tension in one direction. The sides are left free so if you are looking for 360 degree tension a scroll will not help. If you aren't happy with a q-snap then a hoop maybe your best alternate.

Good start. I was going to say what Rose said but she beat me to it. With my Q-snap, I get great tention but it is fairly new yet. I will clip on one side and then pull the fabric as tight as I can while I put on the opposite clip. If you have an older Q-snap that doesn't hold it very well, then put some old cloth between the fabric your working on and the clip to make it tighter in the hold and see if that helps.
