Looking for christmas pattern.

Hi, I am new here and I am hoping I'll finally be able to locate a pattern I have been looking for almost 10 years! It represents Santa on a sleigh with houses on the background. The reindeers and the sleigh are moving to the left of the design. I think that Rudolph is one of the reindeers. There are trees below. The houses are on the right of the pattern. Some metallic thread are used in the design. The pattern is very colorfull and looks like the ones Dimensions Gold collection makes. I am pretty sure it is a stocking pattern. It was from a magazine and can't even remember the name of the pattern. I want to say "silent night" but I am not certain.
Thank you so much for your help!

I was looking for a couple more sites to help you but at the moment have not found what I am looking for. I will try again tomorrow to see what I can find.

Thank you so much for posting those links. I have been through all of it and I still could not find it. I am afraid that it might not be available as a leaflet or kit and that it might only be found in a magazine...making it so much more difficult to locate.

Thanks for your help! I found a pattern on ebay. I wonder if that is not the one I have been looking for...It's a copy so it's in b&w; hard to tell if it' really is it... If that is the right pattern then I must have a terrible memory!

I'll post a picture when I receive it to show you.
Again, thanks a lot for your help!

If this is truelly a copy of an original then as far as copyright laws go it should not be sold. Only originals are legal to sell. The designer could have legal rights to go after this seller. I know it is not your fault some one is doing something illegal but I would be very very careful when buying such a chart. This is why some designers are so upset with the whole e-bay type of selling.
We try very hard to discourage this type of thing because it makes it bad for those of us that are doing legal trades and exchanges.
Just some information for you to think of. It is a personal choice of iff you buy or not but just be aware of what this seller is doing.
Sorry to be a wet blanket when you have been looking so hard for this pattern.

Ok so I just received the copy. It is from a kit called "Christmas Eve Scene" by Candamar Designs Inc. #50427. I think this is what I was looking for but I always thought I would be able to remember the design without a doubt ...not the case. I guess it's been too long (almost 10 years).
Rose, I truly understand your concerns about copyright laws. The lady I got this from (on ebay) has bought a retired seamstress' estate and is selling whatever she is finding . I am sure she had no idea that selling me this copy was illegal.
Here is my question though. Now that I have the name and number of the design , I still can't find it online! I even checked on Candamar's website. Nothing. So if this design is not available anymore what other choice do I have than buying a copy of it?

That is a hard question to answer. I don't have an easy answer to the dilemma you are currently in the copyright is a tricky thing to get around. I know you really want the pattern so only you can decide what your options are.
The only thing I can suggest is to contact the seller and see if she has the original pattern and if she would send that to you. You could explain the situation about your concern about the copy and see what she says.
Good luck with your decision.

I agree with Rose. Many eBayers are unaware of the laws, but that won't help them in a law suit, unfortunately.
In a pinch, and if the design really is unavailable, there would be no harm in contacting Candamar, explaining the situation and asking them for permission to use the copy. That should sort the problem out. And perhaps they have an original stashed away (presumably design companies have HUGE stashes?).

All right, I called on Monday and no luck. The lady said they hardly have any christmas theme kits left because they considerably sized down. I tried!

Thanks Viktoriya but I already found the pattern. I was looking for the whole kit...
By the way, I posted a picture of it in the Gallery. The picture is horrible because I had to downsize it so much...
