Gill Aldus - Queen of the waves.

Post by corby_stitcher »

Its start a new project time for me. So ive decided to start this -
Image
Its from The world of cross stitching issue 172 and 173.
Its 300 x 155 stitches and the designe size is 21.5 x 11 inches (54.5 x 28 cms).
Now it should be stitched on 28 count evenweave, but unfortunatly the only evenweave i have in my stash is a blood red colour. So ive decided to stitch it on 14 count white AIDA instead. As ive some spare AIDA measuring 28 x 14 inches, which was given to me.

I like this design... it reminds me of a tattoo my husband drew up for one his friends... only of course the tattoo had the woman a little more bustier( if that's even a word)

What a fun design! * :thinks: wonders whether bloodred wouldn't have been a very good background colour for a pirate :-) *

I saw this in the magazine - she's a new designer so I'm keen to see how her design stitches up.

Good luck and I shall enjoy watching her develop. :D

Below is what ive got done so far.
Image
I will add the sead beads to the eyes when everything is finished. This one is easy to stitch, as the only fractioal stitches are on the mouth. Again i apoligies about the picture quality, as i still cant find the camera.
