Lovely projects. I love wood of all types and seeing it altered into other beautiful object is facinating. My OH has threatened to buy me the gear because when we go to crat shows I spend so much time at the wood turning lather and the stalls selling wooden things.

Thank you. That one is quite fun to do. Basically you carve a V shape but leave a small piece in the middle so the wood kinda looks line this (imagination time) \|/. Then you carve under that middle piece.

This is brilliant Corey!
My husband is a fitter/turner by trade, although he hasn't done it for some years now, so I must show him this tonight.
Fab work!

Are you making things just for yourselves and family as presents or are you hoping to set up a craft stall or similar?

Too late!

These really look nice. How do you finish them once they are turned? Oil? Wax?

These ones haven't been finished. They're just sanded and left. I have experimented with shellac and various other finishes too. All depends what kind of finish I want and what it'll be used for.

Oh wonderful! Wood turning is one of the crafts I'd love to try but suspect I'd be scared of the equipment used!
I had a similar problem when I did jewellery making - I was scared of the blowtorch!
I have a wonderful turned needle case - an idea for a project maybe?

You do such beautiful work, Corey!

My brother in law makes detailed wooden clocks, and I'm always amazed by woodwork of any type!

Showed these to hubby tonight and he explained your \l/ diagram to me as I didn't exactly get it

... but it now makes perfect sense and I'm well impressed with how it all works and turns out.
He really likes wood turning and likes your pieces as well.

Tell your husband thanks threadbear, that means a lot to a new turner like myself and hearing that from an experienced one.
