~threadbear~ 2011 *UPDATE 21st April*

I keep meaning to start a new thread to show my work, rather than dragging all my old ones up from the dusty depths of the forum, but just haven't got round to it.
Anyhow, I decided that I'm going to make it 2011 projects and just show what I've worked on as the year progresses.
So first just a reminder. I started back with Mabel's Delft!
This has really started me wanting to do more hardanger, so I have bought 'Easing into hardanger' with the intention of trying some projects through the year.
Next the sampler for Steve's office:
From there my next project was the Mario sampler:
After doing these I intended to get back to my dogs, Haed and big cats ... but things happen y'know ....

So once my order had arrived from Sewandso I just had to open one of the set of 4 coasters to look. Only look!
But those first few stitches found their way onto the 18ct fabric, purely to see how it looked of course.
Then try a few colours (There are 9 in all and 2 different ones used in the darkest red)
Well then I thought maybe just get the shape of it, to see how it would look ... and before you know it, I had all the rose complete!
Now just the leaves and stem left.
So far, I'm really enjoying it alot.

your Hardanger is gorgeous tb

my favourite colours and I

the beads. It is such a pretty Mabel design. I have just started one in mauves, but Tiger stitching is more pressing at the moment.
Your sampler is great, love the border and the frame shows it off beautifully..and I love the Mario sampler, who'd have thought these characters would be cross stitched, they look awesome though.

The Hardanger is so lovely
That's so funny about the rose just accidentally getting stitched. It's odd how that happens, isn't it

Its amazing how things sort of stitch themselves isn't it. Love the rose and especially the colours of it, I can almost smell it. Your hardanger is gorgeous and love the samplers too.
Fanulous work on all of them.

Nice finish on Mario!! Again, love the colours on your hardanger, and great rose coaster. Funny how things accidentally get stitched. That's what happened with Kell's subversive ATC after I was done chatting with you.

Thanks girls!
Yes, it amazes me how these things happen. It's not like I completely planned to do it.
I now only have a few more touches in the lightest green on some of the leaves left to do. It's such fun to stitch, it almost stitches itself!

Update coming soon!
Karen, I got it from Sewandso. There are 6 in the set but I could only really afford 4 at the moment, I might get the other two at a later date.
I have the red, lilac, yellow and pink. The other two are peach and light pink.
Should show up as the first 6 in this link.
