McLaren/Hamilton UPDATED 23rd August

I've started a new WIP
I spotted this kit at the Sewing for pleasure show at the NEC the other week and I just couldn't resist it. Formula 1 is the only sport that I follow and I watch it on TV with my husband. I like to stitch while we're watching it, and as we watch all the practice and qualifying and all the chatter about it as well, that's a fair bit of stitching time.
So, I spotted this kit, fell in love with it, and thought it would be perfect to stitch while I'm watching. (That's Hamilton, btw)
I just got a bit done yesterday as I only started it during the hour before the actual race and then the race itself was so exciting that I spent most of it with my needle poised above the fabric and my eyes glued to the screen. I will do better for the next race weekend though

Thanks for looking.

What a cool project! I've never watched Formula 1 racing, but I imagine it's pretty exciting.

Do they do others? Wondering if my brother, who is an avid F1 fan, would like one - but not Hamilton!!!
Look forward to seeing its completion!

Brilliant!!
I'm a mega FI (and motogp) fan and love the chart!! I also did very little stitching on Sunday while glued to the race - and the re-run at 3pm!!
Slightly off topic - I'm still fuming that Hamilton got a 20 second penalty!! Alonso hit him and others weaved more than that during the race!! Ok ... rant over!!

Thanks
Fizzbw - they do do several other F1 kits. You can see them at
Stitchtastic. They have caricature ones like the one that I'm doing or normal ones. Lots of cars, bikes, trucks etc too.
(sorry for not replying sooner. Had a migraine the past few days)
Ali-cat - I was rather annoyed about that penalty myself. Hamilton gets hit by Alonso and yet he's the one that gets the penalty.

I got a fair bit more done to this over the weekend while watching practise and qualifying at China. Very little during the actual race though as it was very exciting. And Hamilton won! Whoo!
This'll be put away for a couple of weeks now until the next race in Turkey.

It's been ages since I updated this. I didn't get any stitching done on it during the Turkish GP as I had a migraine most of that weekend but I've just managed to get a crack on during this last weekend while watching the race at Monaco.
It doesn't look much like an F1 car at the moment but the bit that needs filling in on the left will be a rear tyre. The top bit is part of the spoiler and you can see one of his hands holding the steering wheel. See the grey/white fingers?
Quite a lot of what's left to do on this page is filling in of one colour. I did plan to do that during the race but got a bit carried away 'watching' the race
I should make quite a lot more progress for the next race weekend in Canada.
Thanks for looking
