There is a Cross Stitch chart a-day calender (or at least there used to be), so I assume Liz is planning to stitch all the patterns from the 2010 one.

Wow! large designs, med or small? Like motifs? What would u do when finished? As a needlebook, as a wall hanger, ornaments, etc? All on one piece of fabric or individual?

I have last year's stitch a day calendar too. It has 5 designs each week (it doesn't have thm for the weekends). I used a couple of the designs for boscornu last year - they were lovely to stitch. There's some gorgeous designs in there and I have kept them all for future use, as when stitched on higher counts, they're the perfect size for cards. There are sets within the clendar too, for example there's a whole set of monograms and all the zodia signs too. Then there are themes appropriate to the time of year, such as Mothers' Day, Father's Day, Independance Day; and a bunch of holiday-themes ones for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Xmas, Easter, etc.

I've not seen one for 2011, but from what I can see on Amazon, there'll be a new one in 2012. :)

ETA: I've found the 2011 one now too... apparently it only has 3 designs each week though, which is a bit of a jip if you ask me!

I bought that a few years ago, but many of the designs were very large. Smaller would be better . . .

I have the 2009 and 2010 calendars and I recently bought the 2008 and 2011 ones on Amazon but those packages haven't come yet. My "Mother" project is from the 2009 one I think. There are several ones that have similar motifs that I'd like to stitch on an afghan. I think most of the designs are no bigger than 7" x 5" as the largest, but I could be wrong.

Hooray. I have finished the cross stitch for the 1st January!

Image

Next it is the 4th January because there weren't any designs for weekends. Watch this space.

I changed this design a bit as the lettering was in a solid colour. I liked the variageted thread but it did mean it needed backstitching. Took ages.
