So this is my first ever time cross stitching. I went to Joann's and was looking at patterns and thought this one looked pretty cool....BUT me being a guy didn't pay attention to the details and come to find out its a pretty challenging one for a first timer. So here is how far I am.

Great job on both! Don't worry, I've bought many projects only to later look at them and say "What was I thinking?!?" Just take them bit by bit and you'll do fine!

You're doing great on both of them - I'd never have guessed the tiger was the first ever project!

Thank you all!

I should be done with the butterfly hopefully tomorrow, then back to working on the tiger. I also have a Sleeping Beauty project going but i messed up on one of the arms. I'll post a picture of that as soon as i get it untangled. I'm a multi-tasker, so does anyone have and patterns they would mind suggesting to me for a future project?

Went out and bought a frame. see if it helps rather than holding it by hand.

Your stitches look great! Will be nice seeing your progress. Fantastic work, and I don't even mean for a beginner.

I would not have guessed that the tiger was a first project you really are doing well with him. Love that you can see both eyes already!!! The butterfly looks great also!!!!

That is such a great start

! Don't worry about starting a project that is not considered a "beginners' project" -- I think quite a few of us started stitching because we fell in love with a design and stitched it, and were told only later that it was far too difficult

!

You've made a great start on both projects. It doesn't really matter that you have chosen a more"advanced" project, you are doing a great job. My first ever cross stitch project was quite large, and I bought it all separately (pattern, threads and fabric), I wasn't even aware of kits then! That was 22 years ago, and I'm still hooked!
