Carole's small projects FIREFLY - Finished June 13th

I thought I'd start a thread where I could pop anything that didn't really need its own home. I've got a couple of things on the go and loads planned so I should have something to put in here now and then.

This is the last project that I finished. I've had this, and the second one in the series, in my stash for a while but never quite got around to doing them. Last week I just fancied doing something small and this jumped into my hand when I opened the box with the small stuff in.

It's the first of the Victoria Sampler learning series and teaches Rice stitch and now I've done one, I'm really keen to do the rest as I really enjoyed doing this. The instructions were superb and the kit contents were lovely. I got to use several different threads that I hadn't used before, so that was useful as well as learning the new stitch.

I spent most of yesterday stitching one of Kell's latest designs. It sums me up nicely so I had to do it. I had a small piece of 32 ct opalescent hand-dyed fabric and used some color variations thread with a co-ordinating colour for the text.

Now I think I need one to match using the text from this badge that I acquired recently.
