You have made some beautiful ornaments there. Just love the Gingerbread couple. Imaginitive finishes too. Good on you for getting a good start on Christmas things.

Nope, no perforated paper. What is that used for?

They're from two books --- volumes 1 and 2 of Ornaments Galore by Ursula Michael. Best ornament books I've come across to date!

It is just another type of stitching material, similar to vinyl or plastic canvas. It is a bit thinner then either of the ones I have mentioned so can be a bit fiddly to work with.

Perforated paper is great for this kind of decoration - it's just thick paper with the holes punched in like on aida (I've only ever seen 14-count). It means you can't use franctional stitches, but there's never any fraying edges and you can cut quite intricate shapes. It's also great for bookmarks.

Thanks for the information! I'm still kind of a novice when it comes to cross-stitching --- I've only ever used aida. I need to expand my repertoire.
