I got some of this opalescent ribbon floss in a couple of kits from Dimensions crafts but I would like to know if anyone knows if it or something very similar is available to buy and what company makes it. I love the way it sparkles but I don't want to use what is out of the kit to make other things, just want more.. here is a pic

It's very hard to see how thick it is from your picture but it's definitely available, I'm just not certain which one it is. Try Madeira metallic. It's quite thick but has an opalescent like that. You know Kreinik comes in different thickness too? I'm not sure if they have that white opal colour though. DMC has that colour but not sure about the right thickness. Check out a site like 1-2-3 Stitch for some decent pictures.

Thank you for the reply, it is just a smidge less than 3 mm across, and is a flat braid of six flat opalescent strands, non divisible. I've looked at Kreinik but they don't seem to have it exactly.

Hi fnm

I found some info on the dmc website at the following link. Do these look like the ones? http://www.dmc-usa.com/majic/pageServer ... -news.html" target="_blank

I have all of the light effects DMC offers but all of it is thread not ribbon. Unfortunately none of it has that opalescent sheen to it the way this ribbon does. It looks a lot like the Easter Grass Kreinik is newly offering, only instead of one ribbon this ribbon floss from the kit is made up of six or eight smaller strands and it REALLY catches the light. I'm a sucker for the sparkle..lol.

Sounds a lot like Madeira metallic to me.

This really looks like the stuff in that Dimensions kit 'Dancing Dragonflies' needlepoint--I just completed this one myself--check the link out--you can buy directly from Kreinik

I found it! YLI ribbon floss, metallic opal is the exact (or near enough for me) match and I am thrilled. I picked up some on Ebay for 2.50 for 15 yards. Not bad at all. Thank you so much for all the replies.
