Twilight Garden (HAED) Update 13th Aug 2011

Hi everyone,
I started this new project on the 25th July 2011, it's a HAED: Twilight Garden, artwork by Jessica Galbreth and her Vintage Angel range of beautiful angel paintings. Hopefully it shall look like this when complete:
I have done around a 1/4 of the first page, I'm stitching her on 20 count fabric 2x1 and I shall be tent stitching the really light colours as there is a lot of creams in this design.
Here's my progress as of today:
I'm really enjoying stitching this so far, the blues are so pretty and there is quite a few colour changes but not what you would call confetti.
Thanks for looking.

Very pretty colours! I particularly love the satiny-looking greens and blues on her evening mittens.

Thankyou ladies
Stitched quite a bit more this afternoon, I have gotten to a part of the page where I can tent stitch so it is stitching up more quickly now. I decided that all the really really light colours I would stitch in tent stitch in the hope that they wouldn't look much different to the full crosses of the darker colours and would mean I can stitch this faster, and so far they are blending in really nicely.
I am going to be ordering my fabric for my chatelaine over the weekend, it requires quite a large piece which is even more daunting

So I shall be rotating the two pieces soon. I shall have to buy all the speciality threads and beads etc slowly however, as it will cost a fortune, but I won't let the cost put me off

Thankyou everyone for such kind comments.
Here's another progress pic, been working on this a lot as I'm so eager to see the picture emerge:
Shame the colours haven't shown up properly in the pic though, they look like shades of grey but they are actually shades of aqua and lilac in the lighter parts, bad lighting I think. So this is the moon emerging, I can't wait until it actually looks like the artwork, I'm working in half pages across as I want to see the full width of the design sooner, I think I'm a little impatient lol.

good progress so far. I understand what you mean about wanting to work straight across the top so you can see more of the design. Its easier to do with my QS Cats because its only 1 1/4 pages of design. I thought about it with my LOTR design but think I will lose my way so I've decided to stick with page by page and doing it column by column.
I love the colors in yours. I think they are showing the colors and shades but maybe a little muted by the lighting. it is hard to capture true colors with a camera sometimes.
can't wait to see your next update.
