Beth's George and the Dragon *Finally Updated 26 Aug*

As promised, I finally mastered the camera.
Here is the aim:
And here is the progress after one month of stitching (to the day).
Somewhere along the knight's foot is the middle of the design, the pattern has 4 pages, but they're all different sizes, the first is the largest and 2 of them are just strips along the bottom.
I don't get as much time to stitch as I'd like, so when I hit the half stitch in the background I fell like I'm making real progress

Thanks. I'm taking a break form it this for UFO week. And Camping

OH and I are going on our first kid free holiday long weekend for nearly 17 years!!! Last time we did that our eldest was 2 and granny took her for my 21st birthday weekend.
Colibri: I don’t know what area you’re in, but I’ve noticed that science subjects are far more time consuming as far as being on campus. So for me, doing a humanity instead of a science helps, I can, in theory, so my work at home.
I’m writing up now, hoping to finish this year and I’ve found that for me it is best to treat my research like a job. So I work at the research 9-5. (Although the school holidays are playing havoc with that routine at the moment, and it’s routine that really makes a difference. Once you’ve got one that works for you it all fits together better. Took me a long time to find mine). I also try not to work at all after dinner, though if I’m on a roll it can be tempting to press on. I try to resist, I figure that my kids might be nearly grown but they still need some mum time most days. Though they are very good at not bothering me when I’m working.
Plus I’m lucky that my OH is incredibly supportive and often takes over the cooking and housework so I can get on. Although I will confess that my house and my garden do suffer – I guess something had to give. As for stitching, that understanding OH comes into it again, he actively encourages me to try to do a couple of hours in the evening while we’re watching TV or he’s engaged in one of his own many hobbies. He reckons that I’m less stressed for it, and he’s not wrong.
