confetti stitch?

i have read this term over ad over here on the forum. I was just wondering what is a confetti stitch?
I know its probly a really silly and newbie question

There's no such thing as a silly question!
As I understand it, confetti means lots of scattered stitches of different colours. In other words, there are lots of changes of colour and only one or two stitches of each colour. Does that make sense? Most of us hate it because it's so time consuming having to change thread all the time. Hope that helps.
