Dana's new class pieces - Updates 3/8/12

Here are the two new classes I started last Saturday, the 17th at my LNS, Acorns and Threads in Portland. I'll put them both on the same thread so y'all don't get tired of all my SALs... :)

The first one is Tocatta 3 by The Drawn Thread. This is what the designer's cover model looks like. I've completely changed up the colors though.

The second one is Past and Present by Rosewood Manor. The only thing I'm changing on this one is the color of the alphabet at the very top.

Both pieces are loaded with specialty stitches - makes a nice break from my HAEDs... :). Will post progress pics tomorrow.

They are both gorgeous and I love the border especially on the first one, its so elegant.
They will surely keep you busy and be a lovely change from the HAED.

Really looking forward to seeing updates on these Dana - I'm much more interested in pieces with speciality stitches myself now (thank you TOS!) and you're right - they are a great break from HAEDs! I find I miss seeing some fabric showing through on my pieces!

I am so jealous that your LNS offers classes or that you even have one !!!! But these pieces look lovely and should be exciting to stitch !!!

Hi all - here are pics after my first class. It only took a couple of evenings to get all my "homework" done... I even stitched ahead on Past and Present since the alphabet is just cross stitch... :)

The alphabet looks black in the photo but it's actually a lovely burgundy colored variegated silk from Gloriana...

The first one is very hard to see the letters maybe it is just my screen.

Nice work on the sampler. :applesauce:

Yeah, I could not get a good picture at all on Tocatta. The flash completely washed out the colors, they show up much better in real life... :P

Thank you!
