So I'm stitching away on my somebunny Eskimo kiss and I'm pretty sure that 2 threads from my kit that SHOULD be the same colour are really different?????
What do you guys think??
And what should I do??

The ones on the right certainly look a bit darker than those on the left. Have you laid all your threads out in good light and tied each bundle of the same colour together or put them onto a thread sorter?

Some stitches definitely look darker than others. Oh, dear.

You sure the threads have been sorted properly (I confuse blues all the time.) Did you buy the kit new? Or Ebay? If new and unopened, I'd get in touch with the company and let them know that your kit appears to have two dyelots in one of the thread colours.

I agree that seems to be your best option. Otherwise I might look and see if there is a DMC or anchor color close enough to substitute and use that wherever the color is called for, if it isn't too hard to replace what you have already done.

It is a brand new kit that I bought from Hobbycraft a couple months ago. All the threads came presorted. The stitches I have pictured most DEFINATELT still look darker, but the next few stitches I have done (using the same thread) don't look too bad

I'm confused!!
The photos were both taken under a daylight lamp

Is is possible that maybe the thread got a little dirty for those few stitches? I've noticed that happening (especially with white) many times. A good washing should fix that up.

And maybe when you have done the surrounding stitches- you won't even notice the difference. Or maybe mix up the skeins- so that its one thread from this skein and one from that skein

Somebunnys are DMC designs so will use DMC threads - its weird the thread colour is different, although I have known it happen that 2 identical thread numbers look slightly different. Does it say what DMC number the thread is? You could always buy a skein of it to make sure it stays the same colour throughout the design.

Hmm I'm seeing a marked difference (but I'm REALLY fussy).
If the thread has come from different dye lots that can make a difference.
If it were me I'd write to the company and ask for more thread or just buy a skein of that shade and redo it from the one skein.

It looks like perhaps they were two different dyelots? Even in DMC that can make quite a difference (I had it with a 727 yellow once). I'm assuming the darker stitches came from a new thread and weren't strands from the same thread you'd been using? You might take it to Hobbycraft and ask them about it -- as far as I know, your "contract" is with them, and they should be your first port of call in case of problems, and they can then decide to contact the manufacturer.

Thank you everyone for your help
I carried on stitching to see how noticeable it was and tbh I don't notice it anymore. And I'm quite picky lol.
So here is an update pic as of last night :
Coming along nicely I think - am happy managed a fair bit of stitching yesterday evening - FINALLY
If only I could have a lazy Sunday today and not move from the sofa ...
Hope you like it

Whilst I can see the difference, at least it is on the bunnies head and not smack in the middle of a one colour block of stitches on the clothes. getting an exact match from another skein would be tricky because of the different dye lots too.
I

Somebunny designs and this is a very sweet. Great stitching

I think it looks good and from a distance isn't noticeable to me. You're making good progress on this one.
