hi all,
I'm hoping that I've put this in the right place.
My in-laws ruby wedding anniversary is coming up this September and I would like to do them a piece of cross stitching to celebrate. even though they are in their late 50's they are still young at heart and I can't find anything to suit them (have been looking all over the net for days now).
I have only recently took up cross stitching again so I also need something that isn't too hard to complete.
Thank you in advance for any help.

I did this one for my parents Ruby wedding in September:

Here is the link to the website:

It's an easy design to do. I had only been stitching for about a year when I did it and it was the second project I completed

I saw this one done once as a Ruby Wedding sampler, sorry don't know how to link but go over to Michael Powel cross stitch and click on pots and flowers - go down to Pots of Love 1 you could put their names and dates on the bottom?
Happy Stitching

I did a piece for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary a few years ago. Instead of a traditional anniversary sampler I stitched this
http://www.crossstitchuk.com/P/Cross-St ... 078%29.htm
then I got some pearlescent thread as close to a diamondy colour as I could, then charted my own large number 60 and framed it in a simple wood frame
My grandparents loved it and still display it now. They do all sorts of flowers and fairies and theyre really fun to stitch.
Or you could pick a subject that they like and find a kit that appeals, and just add the number (40 for a Ruby?) somewhere, maybe with the date of their wedding

Have no fear I have used this
websitebefore and consider it excellent! It has lovely patterns for cross stitching as well as other products for those enthausiasts. I bought friends one for their 25th Anniversary and they really appreciated it. If something like that you could get them a lovely deal from sites like this, which offer soem really good prices on spa treatemenst!what better way to say you care. This was only valid in Ireland but there are sites for other countries too.

I recently did this sampler for my parents' 40th anniversary.

I had a nightmare time of changing all the colours though. Especially as my Dad is a yorkshireman and therefore Red roses are forbidden!
I'll upload my photos of it to Flickr tonight so I can show you how it turned out.
Sew and so do have a lot of other designs as well:

There are a lot of good ideas here. I was just going to suggest using a lot of reds in the design. But, there are so many very specific ideas, I'm sure you'll find something nice to do.

thanx alot everyone for your ideas, i will be considering them. i'm kind of thinking about doing a red car pulling a red camper van for them they're a really hard couple to try to do things for my partner cheekily suggested doing a man watching the tv & a woman on the computer or knitting, or a couple at a gig with the man covering he's ears & the woman dancing lol. i'm also thinking about finding a kit with a couple walking through a field of red flowers (as before my father in law got poorly they enjoyed going for long walks) but i don't want it to look like its from twilight (even though my mother in law wouldn't mind that lol).
lots too think about. i'm just finishing a tinkerbell piece for my step-daughter and then onto a charlie & lola for my 4 year old daughter and then a few birthday cards so i've got some stitching to be getting on with until i've decided.
