how do you mount and frame your finished pieces?

I use the Pres-on Self Stick mounting board most of the time. It works OK if the piece does not need to be stretched into shape. I have tried lacing, but I guess I wasn't doing it right, because I had a very hard time with it.
I am already thinking about how I am going to frame Miss Hathaway's Garden when I get it done. The piece will be 23 1/4" X 14 1/3" when finished, so The mounting board is not an option. I want it really tight and stretched perfectly straight. I have thought about cutting a piece of board the same size and stapling the Aida to the back.
does anyone have any tips 'n tricks they care to share?

To be honest I haven't framed any of mine because I have no place of my own to hang them. But when I've needed something framed I take them to a framer who can show me examples of framed stitching.

For me, it depends on the piece.
I have a few that I have used the press on backing for some pieces. I have bought pre-done frames and used the backing that comes in the frames for pieces before.
For something that large, my suggestion would probably be to take it to a framer. My larger or nicer pieces I usually do that with and let them block it and everything. I have one that will give a 10% artist discount if they know that you are the one who made it.

I don't think I would use the press on backing for a large project. As far as I know it is not an acid free product and could spoil all your lovely work in years to come. I mostly frame my own but find it difficult to get frames here that are deep enough to take the fabric, backing board, matt board, etc. Next time I am near the framers I am going to ask if he will make up the frames for me and I'll stretch and frame my own work.
