Vermillion Cross Stitch Series

Hello,
I am a new member of The Cross Stitch forum and this is my very first post. I am a semi-beginner cross stitcher. I learned the basics from some back in 1989 and to be honest have done very little cross stitching over the years. I put in for retirement this morning after a 31 year career. Even though I had hoped to work for another 4 years, my health and employer have made me re-think that. I pretty well have no choice to leave, as I have hit rock bottom and need to try to make some friends and heal myself.
I am wondering if anyone has any of the Vermillion Cross Stitch series patterns for the prior to 2007. I believe there are 3 or 4 years before the ones in 2007. I do see that Vermillion Stitchery has some that are available for purchase, but I am not in a postition to pay their prices.

Thank you for reading my post. I am happy to have found The Cross Stitch forum. I so look forward to reading the posts.

Welcome from the West of Scotland! Sorry to hear that things aren't all roses, but taking up stitching again is probably a very wise decision -- after finding the CSF, of course. We are a very friendly and supportive bunch, even if I do say so myself.

I'm sure somebody has done some of the Vermillion series (they are very nice), and might be able to arrange a swap of some sort with you. In the meantime, look around the forum, build up your posts so you can dive into the galleries, and don't forget the Stash & Grab, with the best virtual hot chocolate probably in the world.

Hi Gail and Welcome from lovely and cool Brisbane Australia.

I am sorry to read that a life change has been made necessary for you but I agree with Serinde, you have made the right decision to take up cross stitching again and found our forum. Sorry I can help with the charts you are looking for, I've not heard of Vermillon Cross St series and "no" I am not going to google it or look at it at all. I have more than enough to keep me busy.

Good luck with the hunt for the charts and coming to grips with your new lifestyle.
Don't forget to yell if you need help we cover the world so someone is online at any one time.

Sally

 Hello and welcome from South Carolina. I'm sorry that you were made to retire, but that just gives you time to develop more interests. I've been retired for 7 (WOW) years now (this month) and one of the things I've been able to do is join this forum and really expand my stitching. I haven't done any of that series though I did look it up briefley and there are some lovely charts though I don't have any myself. Someone else may so be patient as members look through their stash. Serinde's advice to look around the forum and see what a wide variety of cross stitching goes on here is great advice. Hope to see what you are working on soon. and remember what Sally said also, someone from somewhere is usually around. We are very international.

Hi Gail, welcome from Newcastle in Australia. We are having very unseasonable weather here, it's almost like the middle of winter today.

I love the Vermillian charts and did do some years ago but I think I gave my charts away. I'll be sorting through them shortly so will give you a shout if I find any lurking amongst all my stash.

Hi & welcome from Upper Michigan! I hope you will find friends, inspiration and motivation with us here!

Vermillion has so many patterns/charts, can you narrow it down or give us an idea of what you were interested in - santas, angels, fruit, cats, teacups, etc. - large pieces, cushions, or ornament size? I tried looking for something that actually said series, but except for the Designer Series charts, I couldn't really tell if I was on the right track or not. I did come across a chart with children dancing around a Maypole that caught my eye on e-bay, I even put it on my watch list for another look later maybe  (like I really need something else for my stash!).

Once I have a better idea of what you were interested in I can go thru my stash & see if there is anything there. Welcome again!

I'm sorry I can't help you with your question, but I would like to welcome you to this great forum.
It's a major life change you are going through, and it will take some adjustment. Taking up stitching again will certainly help. The cross stitching world is a large one, thanks to the internet, and will certainly keep you busy!
Enjoy the various threads here on the forum and, above all, have fun!
So, again, welcome!

Good Morning, all.

The Vermillion Stitchery patterns that I looking for, are the ones that came out as a series, and had a different pattern for each month. An example of them was "Vermillion Stitchery 2008 Snowman Series" or "Vermillion Stitchery 2007 Deigns & Potpourri". I have these particular 2, but I do not have the years before 2007. I did have them, but to be honest, I was cleaning out my mom's apartment December 2010 after she passed away, and sadly threw out some of my boxes of craft books with her stuff. Now that I am retiring this year, I wanted to try to cross stitch some Angels, animals, marine animals and spiritual projects to hopefully find peace and contentment in myself.

By the way, thank you to everyone who had responded to my post and thank you for all the welcomes and new friends.

I am sure that stitching will help you find peace within yourself as it has with me and countless others, that and chatting/stroking the cat, bless him for his patience with me. I think we all at some time of reducing stash have thrown out things we later regret and not only in stitching stash.

Hope you find all you are looking for.
