Reading through all your threads and looking at some of the websites you recommend I have fallen in love with some of the american Patterns
The rose sampler and Alessandra Adelaide collection. Is it possible for me to oder them and has anyone from the UK ordered anything from the US

Alessandra Adelaide is actually Italian, so it shouldn't be difficult to get them in the UK.

Good luck!

Hiya,

I'm in the UK (just outside Edinburgh) and I just successfully ordered fabric and threads from http://www.123stitch.com in the US.
(I normally use sewandso but $0.40 per skein rather than the £0.65 to good to refuse!)

There are some Alessandra Adelaide patterns on their site too.
http://www.123stitch.com/Cross_Stitch_P ... works.html

The only thing is that postage is a little more expensive (but overall what I bought was still cheaper than buying from sewandso). Also it takes a bit longer to arrive (over a week).

But I was able to order with no problems and the payment went through fine.

I don't see any problem with buying from US sites but be aware that importing goods above a certain value (I think this is now £15) will usually attract a VAT and Parcelforce handling charge. And a bit of a delay while parcelforce tell you and you pay (can be over a week).

I spent $48 (£30) with 123stitch and it came ordinary Royal Mail - No parcelforce charge and no customs charge.

Maybe I was just lucky?

I think the same thing. My dad was asking me where I bought my patterns from and I had to think about it- my eskimos are a Canadian designer, AAN patterns are Italian, quite a few on my wish list are from a French designer I found on Creative Poppy. I have very few from US designers.
