Well I made a start!!! For various reasons I only got about 4 hours work in so its not a huge start.
The info bit: 22ct Hardanger fabric stitched 1 over 1. Started bottom right corner.
There is actually three colours in there believe it or not but the bulk is black!!!!
And the good news is that I'm loving the sit on hoop stand so much I'm using it for everything!!!! this is it incase your wondering.

Yay!!!!!! You've started
Looking good so far, and the sit on frame looks like a really good idea. It'll be interesting seeing you work from the bottom up. Are you going to work in that direction for the whole thing or will you switch to the top at some point?

I will probably stick to working from the bottom, but haven't decided whether I will work across the bottom or work my way up the side.
I might alternate a bit and work on both.

I have one of these hoop frames, and they are really useful. I tend to use it for hardanger, don't know why. Have you wrapped it in bias tape so the wood doesn't catch the fabric? Also holds the fabric tighter, I've found.

Hi Serinde, No I haven't wrapped it but was looking at the bias tape in the stitch direct cataolgue yeaterday thinking maybe that might be a good idea.

Absolutely. I am almost as excited as if I were the one stitching this. I sent the link to the pattern to two of my friends who don't stitch (one used to and I'm always encouraging her back to it) and they were awestruck at the design.
