So my mother has decided that she's marrying a man she's known for a little over a week. I am not even going to get to be there, as I had already booked a plane ticket to visit my husband for spring break...
Soooo, as a good daughter I'm showing support, even though I think she's crazy/having a midlife crises.
So I'm doing a Janlynn kit called Married this Day that I had in my stash...I'll post updates as I get to them. I won't have it done for the wedding, since she's getting married on Friday! March 2nd! Yikes...I'm still kind of in shock lol

Congratulations, I guess. I waited till I knew mine for almost 10 years so I can't really relate to 1 week. Then again, once you are older....

I must admit I have heard of it before. A cousin knew this lady for 4 days before he proposed and they married very soon after and were together for about 40-50 years through some hard times for both of them but they stayed together to the end.

So its possible but scary for you Megan.

Wow...that is a short courtship!!! I wish all the best for her! My husband proposed and I waited 4 years to say yes!!! He always says he wore me down!!!

Yeah I'm happy for her, I just wish I had met the guy! I want to make sure she's not jumping in too quickly...but my great grandparents knew each other a week before they were married and stayed together like 50 years, so anything is possible I guess! My mom is young yet, just 40. And he's taking her last name! So I guess he's at least an interesting one lol

my DH and i knew immediately, too. (married in 4 months tho it coulda been 4 weeks, because we sooooo knew)

she's gonna love the gift, i'm sure.

I'm the cautious type, so one week is hard for me to get my mind around. still, I wish them the very best of luck!

I'm not surprised you're shocked! That will make a wonderful gift... I think that says a lot that you're so willing to your her thoughts and emotions beyond you.. Very mature!

Wow, that's fast! I'm another deliberator, so find a week hard to understand, but best wishes to them both and I'm sure they'll both be very happy. It's a lovely gift as well to stitch them something.

Erm yes, your Mother is crazy, mad, insane! Hate to say it but I got married on the 2nd of March 2002, I filed for divorce on the 2nd of March 2003!

Fast and good work on the stitching though

Well the project is gorgeous I actually knew after 2 weeks of dating my husband although we'd known each other forever, our mothers were best friends, and when I lost my Mum at the age of 6 they almost always stayed in touch We married in 4 months (was meant to be 8 months but erm, I got pregnant and Mother-in-law got skittish so we were married the Saturday after we told her ) Shotgun wedding!
