My stitching has dog hair in it!

My dog sheds hair on pretty much a daily basis! I swear there's more fur on the stairs than on the dog, and so naturally my stitching has managed to aquire quite a bit of it too.
That is, until I laid eyes on my double sided sticky tape, casually discarded on my crafting table after decorating a journal. So now it lives with my stitching, draped over the frame because...wrap it around the furthest finger on my right hand (I stitch two handed and my right hand is underneath) pull off the backing...it's strong enough to pull the hair off and keep it, but doesn't affect the stitching at all! Just...use the sides to dab the fur before the front as it sticks to your other fingers otherwise

In my opinion, a cross stitch piece isn't complete without a few pieces of dog hair!

hehe there's a difference between a few pieces and enough to spin into a complete sweater!

Won't list mine, but there's plenty of hair to clear up every day

Mine too! There's also little fuzzies that drive me crazy... I always have tweezers or sticky tape nearby. I am almost tempted to lint-roll it or even buy one of those schticky things.
My dog's hairs are like little needles... sometimes I take off my sock ready to dig out a splinter that's been bugging me all day and it turns out to be a dog hair embedded in my skin :\

Yowzers, what dog have you got?
I have taken a lint roller to my stitching before...my cat decided to sleep on the project I put down for two seconds and that was it, several hours later I took the lint roller to it

He is a boxer with a super short coat. I was talking to my dry cleaner one day and she said not to bother bringing in any of my clothes/jackets etc. with his hair in them because it's not coming out. It's too sharp, lol.

I have the same problem. I usually take a long piece of tape and join the ends, sticky side out, and put it around my fingers then go back and forth across the page. She's got such fine thin hair that sometimes it's hard to see it against my stitching.

That is so perfect. I may have to get that despite what it will cost for them to send it all the way over here.

The project I'm working on now is the first one I've done while having a cat. I love my cat so much and I thought seeing his hair in my stitching was such a sweet touch. For a little while. It has now lost it's charm! He insists on sleeping right next to me while I stitch (for the heat from my light, I'm sure) so I guess I'm going to just have to live with the hair. I will try the tape though. Thanks for the tip.

Carole its on 123 stitch
http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemd ... em=MBT-010
if that doesn't work cos they don't always with that site just search 'My big toe' which is the designer.
I have no cat or dog to worry about but seem to spend quite a bit of time pulling my own hair out of my stitching!!!!!!!

On my wish list now. and I am sure will be in my cart when I make my next order. It is way too cute. and Emma, the link took me right there, which almost never happens when I try to link something on their website. which clearly meant that I'm supposed to get it. I've been back working on my LOTR with all that black and black background and I promise you there is almost more cat hair than black thread. I will need a whole roll of tape to get the hair off of that one eventually.
