Although I finished this before finding this forum, I've really enjoyed sharing my work here so I thought I'd show you all the finished piece. It's been washed, but still needs to be ironed. Then I need to find the time/money to frame it.

This was actually my second start on this. Somewhere in my parents house there are about three squares of this, but neither I nor my mother could locate it, so I started over. The backstitch of the signs is metallic thread - such a pain to work with but so worth it in the end.

That is really lovely. Metallic thread can be a real pain backstitching. But it does make the signs stand out. This should be really beautiful when you frame it. Make sure you take a picture of it then to show us.

The metallic thread is definitely worth it! It's gorgeous! Are you thinking of a gold frame as well?

I'm not sure yet. I was originally thinking black because of the black background, but I'll have to try some things when I get around to it.
