As part of my stitching rotation, I'm trying to get to my UFOs. Last week, a bookmark I started years ago was up, and I got it finished.



(Sorry the picture is so big and not cropped - my trial version of the photo editor program I've been using is done, and I haven't gotten the full version in the mail yet.)

The design came from a DMC Light Effect booklet:

What I didn't notice when I started the bookmark was that the design is by Joan Elliott!

I did end up using the DMC light effects floss, but at least I had already read on this forum that it's hard to work with, so I just tried to be patient.

After I finished the bookmark, I realized that read books on my Kindle now instead of a paper copy, so now I don't know what to do with the bookmark! Guess it shows times have changed. I decided to send it to my Mom with her Mother's Day card.

BTW - I got curious as to whether there were e-book covers available to cross-stitch, and did find this blank one: http://www.onlinestitchkits.com/catalog ... 194996.htm. Unfortunately, I have a newer (smaller) Kindle, so the cover is too big. Looks like most of the kits are for needlepoint.

Nice, why did it become a UFO? I know we all have them, often I have them if something goes wrong and I have to unpick or just became bored with it. Hoping one day I will get back to it.

I think I quickly got bored with it, then lost my stitching bug. One of those weird mood things. I did enjoy stitching it when I picked it back up.

Very pretty bookmark, and nice to finish it. I'm finding a sense of relief as I finish these old WIPs. Hope you enjoyed the finishing despite the light effects floss.

I found a lot of blank tablet covers, kits and such on ebay. I picked up a bunch of "stitch and zip" eyeglass cases as well as kits. It's a good place to watch for stuff like that.
