I have started using Magic Guide DMC aida and it's fantastic for Haed projects, I washed a small project the other day and the grid lines came out a threat, oh so much easier having your fabric gridded.
Do any other members use this fabric??

I'm using it on one project and TBH I don't really like it! I don't like the feel of the fabric and much prefer gridding with sulky sliver thread. Nowadays I only use 18ct for HAED QSs, everything else is 25/28/32ct. I've just started stitching on the piece that uses magic count after a break of 9 months (naughty me!) and I found that I had to grid with thread to see where I was as I am so used to having a grid that isn't stitched over I found I was loosing my place despite the gridlines! That is just me though - a few other stitchers on here use it and love it!

It is pretty new to me too and I just wish I had used it before when it originally came out, what a difference not having to grid, just start right in on your project and no strands of thread sticking up? Love it.

I used it recently and was pleased with it, and it washed out nicely just in a sink with hot water.
My only peeve was that the lines got faded during use, but I think it was handling as much as anything and I'd put it the frame so the outside is on the outsidenext time,.

Sorry if I wake up a old thread.... I need reassurance

I have been testing to choose a fabric to start my first HAED Peacock in full bloom and I am quite pleased wit the 25 count DMC magic guide, mostly because it would avoid the pain of gridding
BUT I am also concerned about the fact that this HAED has quite a lot of background showing as it is not full coverage. I am scared to death about the possibility of finding out after months of work, that the red lines will not come off completely or even worst that washing it at 40 degree will make the dmc stranded thread run.....
anybody used it for projects not fully covered? how was the result?

DMC stranded won't run, so don't worry about that part.

Thanks Serinde, actually, silly me, I have a few towel I cross stitched ages ago and I always wash them 60 degree, never had a problem! I guess my first HAED is making me over nervous
