So, I am cheating on my Aurora Cabin at the moment. I started a brand new shiny kit because I missed making all of the little x's - there are none left in the cabin picture. I love this pattern, it looks like a painting. My only "dislike" is there are a lot of unstitched areas and in my experience I have to keep the tension PERFECT so as not to have wrinkles later.
I can't wait until the fabric isn't as "crunchy" so I can move my hoop around better. Any suggestions? Would ironing help?
I was also so impatient I masking taped the edges of the fabric instead of stitching them. It's so much quicker and tidier looking, my edge stitches always look like crap.
Anyway, just something fun to work on until I can start my next HAED. I love making these little houses!

Maybe you're just getting a head start on this design . . . can't blame you, it looks like it's fun to stitch.

It's a beautiful piece, and great start! I think washing usually helps soften up fabric?

Beautiful project and lovely start on it! I have to say though, I can't wait to see your cabin backstitched.

Great start!!
I read somewhere that washing fabric helps take the stiffness out, but I'm not sure whether you'd want to do that having started stitching. Perhaps someone who knows more about it than I do can advise?
