Not been stitching much lately due to ongoing hand / arm pain which had been really frustrating! But, off to a wedding soon and their theme is English country - think bunting and little cakes. Anyway, saw this and thought it would make a nice gift so stitched it up. It's in the latest issue of Cross Stitcher. Changed the colours to use what I had and it was my first time using evenweave but think it looks ok? I should have used 3 threads but didn't want to give up my loop start! Going to get some backing fabric and paint a wooden hoop to frame it - what do you think?

For the idea for the frame - sounds a fabulous idea.

Beautiful piece!! I enjoy working on evenweave, but it does take practice. I think framing it in a wooden hoop would look great.

Thanks everyone! Evenweave wasn't as scary as I thought. Will definently try it again. Only problem is I can see me spending a lot more money on fabric now!
