Completely had a girlie moment

Post by talenaya »

I found a scorpion in my bathroom! I haven't seen one since I was a kid in Atlanta. It was crawling on my wall. I had one of the what-is-that moments followed by the girlie kill it kill it moments. Then I remember I was the only one. So I bucked up and killed it.

I had that same moment with Black Widows. Where was my rescuer when I needed him? Dang, I am now a vicious killer of Black Widow Spiders if they dare to try to make a nest on the Recycle Can. I am very proud of you. I haven't seen a scorpion in years and really don't want to. That was very brave of you indeed. :king:

Oh man. I've thankfully never seen a scorpion in real life. But as I was reading this, my cat nudged one of my stitching bags against my foot and scared me so bad. I thought a bug or spider was crawling on me.

Yikes!! Scorpion--that is one thing that would likely make me a bit edgy. Snakes and spiders usually don't bother me much but I think I'd be extremely upset to see a scorpion in my house. Glad you managed to take care of it before it got you!!

Good girl I think we might all have a girlie moment when confronted with a scorpion. :poke:

Well done, you're really brave. I'm so relieved we don't have scorpions here. I'm scared of spiders and only just getting to the stage where I can use the vacuum cleaner to dispose of them and even that's getting too close! I could never live anywhere where they had scorpions or poisonous spiders.

Well done you! Not sure I would've been so brave. Having said that, though, Hubby has a phobia of anything smaller than a cat so I'm the one that ends up getting rid of spiders, wasps, moths, ants, beetles, etc. etc. while he stands on the sofa telling me not to kill it.

I bet Arnold Schwarzenegger (or however it's supposed to be spelt) would have had a girlie moment if he found a scorpion in his bath!

Well done. I would have just panicked.

I have to ask: how did you kill it?

Smashed, threw it in the toilet, and urinated on it. It should be dead. Cats are useless. The both were sleeping. Though Thor is afraid of centipedes and ants (I once had to change the linens on the bed because he found a centipede on it and refused to go near the bed until the linens were change) so he might be afraid of scorpions too.

That took courage...to pee on it I mean!!!

We have Hairy centipedes here....Uhhhgg! :gurn:
Now I like spiders, they kill flies...not sure about Black Widows though
But these centipedes scurry, never know which way until they go! So I get very girlie when I see those!

I work for the good old NHS and I basically statistically analyse all hospital visits. Today I had to read a mans notes who had been in ED over the weekend. The reason?...He had been standing on a stool because there was a spider in the house and he fell off and broke his arm!
So it is not just us girlies.
