Necessities Sampler

Post by backafteradozenyrs »

Because I haven't got enough on my plate... I started THIS yesterday (because I got one mother of a knot in that pretty pink thread on that Victorian Sampler & I just don't want to :anotherfrog: it yet!)

http://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemd ... em=07-2146" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

& this is how far I am after one evening stitching:

edited to add: note the blue dots...I went out from the center to start the border this time.

later edit: swapped out picture of my work because I found mr :anotherfrog: lurking...working on :ribbit: him out.

I thought I had already responded. another year older and more forgetful I guess. :applesauce: I really like this sampler. there is something very warm and cozy about it. What fabric are you using? The one suggested on the 123 Stitch website? or is that more of the fabric you are using on the other sampler. I'm not very good at telling fabrics apart unless it is blatently obvious. I hope your 2nd edit didn't mean you had to deal with that awful amphibian on this sampler also? Sometimes they are just like the plague and take over. I've been doing really dumb things and haven't had major :ribbit: s but lots of little ones 10 t0 20 stitches or so. I think we need to have a frog leg barbeque real soon.

I'm using some 28ct "Irish Linen" (Charles Craft) from my stash. I like it because it has DISTINCT holes!

Yes, I've had an abundance of amphibians lately....must be the heat! Frog legs sound good to me!!

Sometimes a project may have a strong will, but I am sure a proper stitcher can tame it.

Sorry to hear about your trouble on the other sampler, but you've gotten a great start on "Necessities".

Even I said before, that sometimes a project may have a strong will of its own, I didn't mean the sampler you are stitching at the moment. That project looks great.
