De-furring your stitching

My current HAED is mostly deep navy blue and all of the fluffies/cat hair/dog hair really stand out. I pick out what I can with tweezers, but my boyfriend got really excited when he saw the Schticky (the infomercial product) at the store...
It is PERFECT! I love this thing. It feels sticky and like it will leave a residue, but it does not. I have tested out my stitching for you. I've been running it all over myself and the couch and the apartment, but it is also great for stitching
I just had to share. Fluffies in my stitching make me crazy. It seems to have more "power" than paper lint rollers.

But I thought

fur was an acceptable accessory?
Found their website:
https://schticky.com/" target="_blank
I've seen parts of the infomercial (channel surfing) & it did look intriguing.

I have not seen that...will have to look into it. I assume they are selling it in the US too.

If you go to this thread of mine
Carole's small projects on page 2 towards the middle of the page you will see my kitty's view of cat hair. She doesn't see the need for thread at all!

Seriously, for framing and gifting this sounds like something worth looking into. (Though my friends and family would wonder if there wasn't even one bit of cat fur on the piece)

Interesting! I've not seen it in the UK, but if it doesn't leave a residue it sounds great. I go through the paper lint rollers very quickly as my cat seems to love shedding hair, everywhere!

OH MY HOLY HOUSEPANTS it's the slap/chop guy on the schticky's site! Have you seen this guy's infomercials? They're insane. Seriously, YouTube the infomercial for the slap/chop. It's...unintentionally hilarious.

I know! He is ridiculous. I still love my shticky though.
I also agree with you Carole

That's good to know of because our dog we currently have, I swear can shed at will. Fur EVERYWHERE! We had to buy dison vacuum cause all the other ones just weren't cutting it. I hate carpet. But he's 14 so maybe we won't have to worry about it for too long? Kidding lol. On another note I'm surprised that guy got another job, cause I thought he was done now after he was caught picking up cheap hookers and apparently went almost broke on them.

Will have to keep this in mind as I have an ungodly amount of cat fur stuck in my stitching!

This sounds like a great item....I have both a cat and a dog and believe me it is wall to wall fur....I will have to give this a try...
Anything black is usually covered with fur before the day is over.
I was wondering whether anyone keeps their project in a drawstring bag when not in use...it is usually when I set down an ongoing project that the fur accumulates.

Maggie, I store my projects in zipped totes and or normal totes with a piece of fabric draped over it to keep it from getting dusty/furry.

I keep mine in a ziplock freezer bag in between stitching.... but my apartment is so dusty and full of pet hair that even after a few hours of stitching I've got hair on my threads (if I forget to close the box between switching colours) and on my fabric

I have this problem- and I don't have pets. But I have fuzz everywhere. I think its because of the volume of fluffy blankets I have. And in the winter- with all the static in my house, it's a constant battle. I would never keep up if I had to add pet hair into the mix.
I am currently stitching on a project with black fabric. I try to limit how often I set it down, and when I do, I try to only set it on the dishtowel I use for contrast on my lap. Otherwise, everytime I put it down, its like a fuzz magnet.
I've been using one of those velvet? microfiber? lint brushes. I have no idea what the fabric is, but it grabbs all the fuzzies on your clothes, or sofa, or stitching when you brush against the grain. I figure the more I try and de-fuzz my fabric, the less chance there is in trapping little fuzzies underneath stitches.

Sounds good ladies...I never thought of just covering with something when not working on it...will give this a try.
