I like this Halloween design which uses textured floss:

But I'm having difficulty finding FurTaStitch. Does anyone know where I can get it in the UK?

Can't say that I've heard of that one before, but the thread I associate this type of stitching with most is Rainbow Galley's
Wisper thread which could be an alternative just in case!

Oh, that's brilliant, Amanda! Thank you.
I'll give that a try. Have you ever used it yourself?

I've not used it myself - but here is a
thread by someone who has! It probably isn't the easiest thread to use - but then threads that create special effect often aren't! The other option is Madeira
Lana thread which you "fluff up" after you've stitched the area,
here is an example of something stitched with it.

I haven't found anywhere in the UK - the italian manufacturer seems to sell it from their site -

You could try asking Sewandso whether they can get it in for you - they're usually very good about responding to queries. Or in addition to the Wisper that Amanda mentioned, Rainbow Gallery also do an Alpaca and something called Fuzzy Stuff which are quite shaggy and recommended for fur too.

Thanks for the link to that thread, Amanda. That helps a lot! As do the other two possibilities you mention. I had no idea there were all these different kinds.
And Lessa, that's a good idea about asking Sew and So. I get a lot of my fabric and etc from them, so maybe I will ask them first and if they can't help then I'll try these other kinds.
Thank you both

Also available from sew and so are the
Legacy threads from Threadworx, another hairy floss! I would love to know how you get on with them, please let us know.
