What size bead should I use to replace a French knot? I'm guessing seed-beads; like a Mill Hill 11/0 (& does anyone know what the designation means?)

11/0 means the size so you can fit 11 of those beads on a one inch strand. So a size 10 is bigger than a size 11, and a size 11 is bigger than a size 15.
When I substitute Mill Hills for French knots I normally go with the Petite Mill Hills, but I can't tell you what size they are off of the top of my head.

I used the 11/0 seed beads on my blackwork lady to replace the french knots. I think they're a good size for the project, but might not be the best size for all projects.

If the 15/0 Mill Hill Petites aren't small enough, then check out

I've ordered 11/0 jet black seed beads...if Teddy has googly-eyes it will be because a dragon is hugging him (& I would have googly-eyes then, too
