Putting a photo in a cross stitched frame

Hi everyone. I just finished a cross stitched picture frame for my newborn grandson. The chart tells me to cut out the area where the photo goes, but it doesn't tell me how to hold the photo in place. Can anyone help me/give me suggestions, please? Thank you.

Not knowing what chart you did. I am just guessing but maybe double-sided tape.

Hi Rose,
Thank you for your suggestion, but won't the tape show through? I will take a picture of my finished work and show you what I mean.

With out seeing it But what if you stretched the complete cross stitch on to backing board leaving in the middle an then pop picture in on double sided tape Then back it off with another piece of board to hide the stretch stitching

Hi Reta, thank you for your suggestion. I did some reasearch about it and I found a possible solution - using Glue Dots. I just don't know if it will show through or becaome yellowish after some time. I am thinking about going to Michaels and find out. When I come back home and try it, I will post a photo of my work and whatever Michaels suggests me. I hope it is a useful information for everyone.

Hi Everyone,
First of all, I apologize for my delay in uploading a picture for you to see what I've done. Well, I found a solution for the picture. I went to an art store and bought a type of cardboard that is extremely thing. I cut out the hole for thye picture and used photo corners to keep the photo in place (on the cardboard). Then, using "glue dots" (applied to the back of the cross stitched work), I held the cardboard in place. I still need to complete the framing, though. But here is my small "masterpiece"...

I hope everyone likes it.
By the way, my name is Paula....
PS: How do I upload a picture?

Thank you so much for your messages, Karen and Carole. The outside framing isn't done yet, but I will upload a photo of it when it's 100% complete. My next job will be cross stitching a photo of my mother-in-law...
