Will this work? Crystal Treasure technique question.

A picture would be worth 1000 words here, but I can't get a decent picture with my camera's macro, so I hope I can explain this enough to make sense. I'm trying to make a faux-tassel. I'm working with a ball-shaped, faceted MH Crystal Treasure approximately three times the size of a MH seed bead. I've unstranded a short length of Kreinik metallic braid. I secured the unstranded braid by tying it off at the midpoint with clear monofilament. I then ran the monofilament through the crystal treasure so that the braid doubled over. I now have a loop at the top of the treasure and tassel-like strands at the bottom. I can secure this faux-tassel to my project with the monofilament still tied to the loop at the top. The problem is, how do I keep the treasure from sliding off the unstranded braid at the bottom? The only thing I can think of is to carefully apply just a touch of cyanoacrylate glue with the tip of a needle to the braid at the base of the treasure. I have some medium viscosity CA, so it shouldn't wick up into the treasure itself.

I hope that makes sense. Any other suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks,

Makes perfect sense, a very clear description -- it must look very attractive, not to mention tiny!

My first thought would be a knot, just below the Crystal, so that the bottom of the crystal rests on it. This rather depends on whether you can tie a large enough knot in the Kreinik braid, I don't know how wide the "tunnel" through your crystal is.

Second thought (might only be possible if you start from scratch):
Tie knot in tassel - string on tiny sequin or petite seed bead - string on Crystal which will then rest on the tiny sequin/mini bead.

Hope that gives you some ideas!

Perfect description. Sound beautiful! I have no other suggestions but I like Mabel's idea about the tiny sequin/seed bead!

Thank you! I hadn't thought of using a bead. I can just loop the monofilament through the bead and them slide the treasure back on. That gives me an excuse to use the beads I originally bought for the project, bit didn't use. Well, three of them anyway. :)

I hope I can finish off the beading and iron it tonight. Get most of it pinned tomorrow after work and do the lacing and framing Sunday afternoon. Hey, I might actually finish something enough to post a couple of pics.
