Greetings all!

I have just picked up some 8 count light blue aida. After a bit of cross stitch, it should become a pillow for the couch. This is the first time that I will be stitching on 8 count fabric. My question is how many threads should I use (over 1) to get the same coverage as 2 threads over one on 14 count?

I'd do a little bit of test stitching but would be tempted to start with six to see how it looks.

Or maybe try a #5 pearl cotton.
I've never worked on an 8 count either.
