Do any of you have an opinion on whether this would be worth buying? I've got a rather large section to rip out and it's going to be a pain.

There's also this nifty pair of scissors:

I frog with Scissors and a needle very carefully
I start by cutting every 10th ish top cross stitch so as I am not pulling long strands through
Then do the bottom Takes time but neater job and not to many over stretched holes

Yes, I have that exact tool, and I LOVE it! LOVE it! Did I mention that I really like it?
Clip the cross on the top of the fabric and then flip the work over and gently brush the back of the stitches with the tool. The threads come right out, it doesn't yank the fabric, and it picks up all the fuzz from the clipped threads. I don't have to rip out very often, but when I do, this tool just handles it lickity-split.

This is a great topic. I didn't even know there was a tool for frogging.

Cool beans - I think I will ordering and give it a try. Thanks for the bout, everyone
EDIT: bout? I have no idea what I was trying to say. I choose to blame the iPad autocorrect.

Make sure you report back as to whether or not you think it is worth it. I've never seen those before, but anything that makes dealing with

faster and easier, I'm all for it.

Will do. I also ordered the scissors that go with it. Should make it easier to frog and cut the waste knots.

I just use a seam ripper- snag the top stitches only to avoid cutting through fabric. I'll clip every couple of individual stitches not every one.
