Aside from my newly refound stitching bug I do a number of other things, like crochet, knitting and scrapbooking.
Soon after I started crocheting a couple of years ago I discovered the Amineko crocheted cat pattern and bought the book. A friend also got into making them after she saw mine and we've been keeping each other going making them in every color and size we could find yarn for.
I started to get bored with them late last year, but then I came across something on Ravelry (if you knit or crochet and don't know Ravelry - go NOW!
) about a year in temperatures scarf, where each row represent the temperature high for that day (you make a scale of colors up front). I started thinking and calculating and figured out a way to make a really big Amineko that had 365 colored rows.
Here's the progress so far, the legs and tail ran up to April 1. On the left is a regular sized Amineko and on the right is one I made from the big pattern that is in the book, which is basically the regular pattern multiplied by 2 (both rows and stitches), which I had to multiply by 2.4 to get the 365 rows.

Adorable. I haven't crocheted at all since I started cross stitch. Those cats are almost enough to encourage me back to it. I did take a peek at the website and saw some of the different ones that have been made. Love what you are doing in making the large one. Keep those updates coming!
