Millenium frames....are they as easy to use as Qsnaps?

I have been eyeing these up for a while now as an alternative to a q-snap for when doing pieces that require beading, so I can bead as I go rather than waiting til the end and having a bead marathon!

Here is a link to the website for anyone interested http://www.needleneeds.co.uk/store/

I was wondering if anyone had one of these....are they easy to use.....does a lowery stand clamp them ok....is the tension as good as they say it is?

Any feedback on them is very welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

I have just watched the demonstration. Must admit these are new to me. I think they would work well with a larger project. Very interesting. I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has used one.

Thanks for the link to your thread Skitzzzzz, sorry I didn't see it when you posted, this place is so busy and fast moving it must have dropped off the first couple of pages of topics.

Looks like you are having problems with the customer service....shame really as that has put me off somewhat....however if they are as good as they claim I think it may be worth waiting for :thinks:

I would very much like to know what you think of it when it arrives....I have a bit of cash to spend and it's a toss up between this or a corner clamp for my Lowery....can't afford both

i may phone again tomorrow
that's it though are they as good as they claim ? if yes then maybe the wait is worth it but - this would also put me off too
it's a do i or don't i moment

They are well worth the wait! My original order took about 5 weeks; the second set of bars took about 4 weeks.
   I love my Millennium frame and can't imagine using anything else now. None of the other frames that I have used over the past 20+ years can match the tension that this frame can achieve. They are beautifully made, and you can see that they are made by a craftsman. They are a bit heavy due to the quality wood that is used, and I always use mine with the Lowery stand.

I also bought some 'rotating frame covers' on ebay to slipover the bars to ensure that the fabric stayed clean, as I have two dogs. When I put my stitching away, I take the frame apart and roll the top bars towards each other like a scroll. Then I slip the covers back over to protect my work!

You can of course remove your project each time if you like to work on a rotation.

I have used hoops, q snaps and scroll frames on my lowery and it holds the millennium fine as well. I just leave the millennium in place when I finish stitching, loosening the wooden nuts to release the tension, and pull a pillow Case over it. If for any reason might be in the way I take the millennium off the lowery and pop it behind a chair.
It's the best frame I have ever used. I love the drum tight tension and also not having to stitch the fabric onto the dowels. The only downside I have found is that when it comes time to roll the fabric to move the work up it's a bit of a faff.

I'm eyeing too. Waiting patiently ... but it's easier for me to wait because I don't have the money right now lol
