parking threads

I have just started a kit of a butterfly which consists of small amounts of lots of different colours. I recall doing something called parking threads a long time ago but I must be doing something wrong this time because I keep catching the threads in with the colour I am stitching. I would be very grateful if anyone can advise me on how to do this or suggest another method.

Here's the method I use and it works really well: http://www.scarletquince.com/parking.php" target="_blank.

Some people prefer to stitch all symbols of the first colour in a 10x10 block then park in the appropriate hole for the first symbol of that colour in the block below, then do the same with the second, third, etc. colour.

Good luck, and if you've got any more questions, just shout! :D

I might have to try this for the confetti heavy sections on my HAED. I don't think I would like parking all the time, but this seems like a good idea for those sections.

Ok, I think parking isn't for me. I tried it on a 10x10 block and after the first row all the hanging threads were starting to bug me. Back to cross country for me!
