I was getting ready to start the bucilla nativity kit when i discovered that one of the symbols in the chart is not even mentioned in the list of colors, I am going to email the company but I wanted to see if anybody had already done this.

it's this kit

That certainly is strange. If the kit came with the threads, you could try process of elimination to see which thread color doesn't have a symbol, unless there's more than one missing.

yes there was more than one thread color missing, I just can't belive that it wasn't listed in the color key. I have a feeling that it's supposed to be a combined color because I have 2 threads that have way more strands than what would be needed for project.

If anybody has done the kit the info I am missing is all the skin tones, the symbol looks like a capitol B. actually, until I hear anything else I have subbed it with a DMC thread that is, according to conversion charts, a color that is already included but the colors are different enough that the dmc is more of a peachy color flesh tone, the one included is more on the yellow side.

I heard from the company, they said that because it's more than a year out of print they have no info on it, grrr

That's frustrating. Hopefully you can estimate the thread color from the photo of the finished product?

I finished one ornament and really don't like the way it looks, it looks light alot of colors are off but that could also be because an old pattern and the image could be discolored (or the threads)

I've done 3 Bucilla-brand kits...not this one though.
Do have to say that the colors look slightly different than the picture. In one kit, I had a hell of a time getting the threads separated due to the fact that there was so much variation between the "same" color threads. For example, it would say that there were 10 strands of moss green....I only found 4. Well, the other 6 were just a tad off from the 4, but they didn't fit anywhere else, so they had to be moss green, right?
Also, I can't tell you how many times I saw squares with missing symbols or symbols blocked by the backstitch lines.
I admit, that I do like the finished products (with a bit of tweaking here and there), but wouldn't want to buy another Bucilla kit again.

I do hope that you can get a response from the company.
