Hi,
i`ve been roped in to doing a load of designs on nammahs (saddle cloths)
but some times the waste canvas is difficult to pull though .
(It dosen`t help with it being so hot my fingers sweat. )

as any one got any tips to help me PLEASE.

I am not sure what exactly you are having trouble pulling, the thread that you are stitching with or the waste at the end of the stitching when you are getting it out of the project??????

If you are talking about pulling the waste canvas out then you need to pull one thread at a time get a firm grip of the thread and gently but steady pull that thread all the way through. if the project is dense. That is full stitches with no open places you can easy the canvas thread a few inches at a time and then smooth the fabric down to lay flat. Also if you get the waste threads just a tiny bit damp.....ie us a spray bottle to mist the area that you are removing it will slide easier but just damp not full on wet. Also pull all of the threads from one side out first then go back and pull out the other. What I mean is pull all of the vertical threads out and then go back and pull all of the the horizontal threads. Or vise versa which ever way is best for you. I usually pull the side that is shortest first then go back and pull the longer threads.

I use tweezers to get a grip.

Difficult to pull your needle through the grid? Try a smaller, but sharp, new needle.
Depends on the size of waste canvas.. but I generally use a size 26 needle.

And totally off topic, but I see that you live in Northumberland. While I was in college I lived and studied in Alnwick. Loved every minute of it.

Hi MaggieM1750 i used to live in amble which is bout 15 mile from alnwick .
Its a nice area .

I used waste canvas to stitch on the pocket of a backpack. When I was through i got the whole area wet and pulled the softened waste canvas threads out one at a time. I think it was pretty easy .

I found that dampening the waste cloth helped me to pull it out and then I used tweezers to get a good grab on it to pull it all out.
