Hi all,

Got a job 12 weeks ago, going temp to perm good job. I went in everyday and even with a ripped shoulder (warehouse job). Then the managers freind joined the team he keeps making trouble no one likes him, he doesn't pull his weight. As soon as he started he started bullying me he kept running to the manager who listened to him but never asked me my side of the story. Yesterday afternoon I tried make peace with this guy who then verbally attacked me I walked away but he followed. I guessed it would be the end for me. 7:20 am I went into the managers office as he wanted to speak to, as predicted I got sacked. He said he likes me, I do everything he asks of me, I have total commitment to the job and he has no problem giving me a reference. It's just the dinamics don't work. Oh well need to find a new job then. On the plus side I might actually see my kids.

Anyway sorry I'm just a bit upset about it

thats disgusting and totally unfair, if I were you I would get in touch with ~ACAS
they deal with employment issues and will be able to give you advice and support if you wanted to take it further

if of course you dont want to, then good luck with finding more work

I wholeheartedly agree with Purgatory.
I hope things get sorted out for you and enjoy the extra time with your kids

That sucks! You poor thing, you have every right to be angry and sad. I really hope you find a better job where your work ethic and aptitude are valued.

Oh that's awful, it does annoy me as so many people who you work with now have hidden agenda's and make trouble for others. Try to look on the bright side of things. I was in a situation a bit like yours and now I have another job which I really love and like the people I work with so fingers crossed for next time plus at least you can have time with your kids.

So so unfair, but it sounds like you don't have much recourse. Over here, that would depend on the state you live in and all kinds of other things. Good luck finding a better job at a place that really does appreciate your hard work and loyalty. that it doesn't take too long. In the meantime, enjoy the time with your kids.

How very unfair for you!! You have every right to be upset and I wish you the best of luck in finding a new job that will be a much better place for you to work at!!

Isn't it sad that you work hard pull your own weight and are a competent worker and you the good one gets sacked and the trouble maker gets to stay. I am sure you do not want to work for a place that encourages this type of employee but it just seems as if you could make a complaint.....not sure if it would do any good though......

Thanks you all for your encouragement. I did tell the agency what happened but at the end of the day he was within his rights to sack me and he had replaced me already, I had been the only woman till a couple of weeks ago. I should find work with the Xmas jobs coming up, but would like job security. The kids go back to school next week, and I still need to pay the bills. But you know what they say when one door closes another will open

i am so very sorry. there is nothing worse than when incompetent people get away with well, being incompetent. i hope you find better and steady work soon.
