Reversing a chart

Do any of you have a quick way to "reverse" a chart?
I am stitching these 2 as a gift for my husband who is Danish-Canadian.

I want to put them in a side by side frame and would like to flip the Canadian Santa so his flag points towards the Danish one.
Any easy way to do this? Appreciate any help you can offer.
Cheers :toast:

I can only think of scanning the design and using a program to get a mirror image of it? :thinks:

I think Laura hit it on the head. Your scanner should be able to do a flip option and that should work for what you want to do. :thinks:

I have done just that in the past. Works great.

A photocopier will also be able to do a mirror image - look for a button or option that has two little triangles with a vertical line between them. Also, don't forget to also flip your color key so that you're not left scratching your head figuring out what color is which!

Thanks for all your help on this. :applesauce:
Neither of my of my scanners (home or work) would allow the flip :tantrum: so I took a picture on my ipad and the photo editing program allowed the flip. :D So I am all set.
Will show when the stitching commences.
Thanks again.
Cheers :toast:

I don't think it works that way. The key remains the same, the point is that the CHART/pattern has been flipped...the colors will remain true to the key.

When you flip the chart, the symbols themselves will flip. So if you had one color that was represented by --> and another that was <--, you could get them mixed up if you don't flip the symbols in the color chart.

ETA: Only vertically symmetric symbols will remain the same.

That is true, thanks! (I haven't seen so many symbols that were an exact reverse; can't actually remember ever seeing any but my memory isn't so good lately!)

ps-scanning & flipping the color chart would also do the trick, too :)

HAED charts do the < and > (or similar symbols) all the time and alot of them are right next to each other. I only have 3 HAED charts and every one of them have this in them. It is very frustrating when you are trying to stitch. I think ALL Designers should be made aware that like chart symbols make a chart very frustrating.

Very true.. of course with an HAED and you have 90 some odd colours I expect they run out of obvious symbols quickly? But I agree.. I wouldnt' like to guess how many times I've fudged the colours on my HAEDs. :)

hope the reversing goes well wwdiva! It's a very cool idea and 2 great patterns.

Ooh  thank you all for pointing this out! I hadn't thought of that aspect to the flip. These charts are really basic, with few colours so I doubt that will come into it but I am filing that away in my memory bank for if I do this again.
