Feeling very lucky to have a family that remembers I love to stitch! No one else knows specifics about cross stitch, so I received $70 in gift cards to Lincraft, as well as a mini sewing box to store things in. I haven't filled the sewing box yet, but I have spent some of my Lincraft money! I have bought myself pre-cut red 14 ct aida (getting ready for X-mas), some floss, including a large amount of silver metallic floss, a new set of embroidery scissors (last pair was slightly wonky after a housemate misappropriated them to use the point in place of a screwdriver ) , and 1.5 metres of aida banding for bookmarks and such. Looking forward to using it soon - and staring at it happily in the meantime!

My grandparents sent me some money for my birthday and I bought a blue rose kit of ebay to add to my birthday stash. And the tapestry scroll and lap stand I ordered arrived just before I left for work today, so assembling that tonight.
Whew! Busy weekend ahead!

And really...embroidery scissors as a screwdriver? Geez...everyone knows you're supposed to use a kitchen knife.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! As for my housemate...let's just say he's doing a few extra chores this week and the next to make up for it. Very silly of him, to put it politely! I may have calmed myself with a glass of that night.
