I'm coming out of lurkdom to post my latest project. Last time I checked in (early Sept), I was working on Harvest Basket and making good headway when life got busy and I stopped stitching. My husband noticed and suggested maybe a new project would get me going again and that I should be watching the mail for a surprise

He said he came across a great butterfly kit and almost bought it but after reading reviews he noticed the background was printed on the fabric rather than stitched so he kept looking and surprised me with Butterfly Forest by Dimensions! Well, I have to say it did the trick and I have been making time (late at night and early mornings to work on this one).
Here is the pattern:
And here is my progress since starting on Sept 20:

I have done a lot of Dimensions kits but this is the first time I had the misfortune of getting a really bad piece of fabric with the kit (skewed and had a flaw in it) so I replaced the 14 ct Aida with some 18ct I had on hand.

What a wonderful husband to know just what you need! I love that design; I've seen it and have been close to buying it several times (sometimes I do listen to the voices in my head that say, "Really? Another one?"). As far as switching out the fabric...I do that with probably 75% of the kits I purchase.
Welcome back from lurkdom.

Update! I finished the first of 2 pages and I love working on this!

I am, however going to put it aside for a bit to work on a new Santa kit I got this week.
