Finished Uni for the year!

Finally! It got so hectic at the end, I didn't have time to do anything but study. Or anytime I did stitch, there was this evil little voice in my head saying 'You're procrastinating, you should be studying,' and so on, which is not very fun. This last week was 'EVERYTHING IS DUE' week and I think I've managed all right. Monday I had an essay on Shakespeare and an essay on contemporary Australian fiction due, Thurs I had an exam on Gender and Culture in the Middle East, and Friday I had a cultural studies essay due. It was crazy! And I wanted to get straight into one of my bigger projects, but I injured my right shoulder on Thursday and was told to RICE it, which does not include cross stitching. :tantrum: So last night I finally got to stitch, starting a baby bib for a friend who had her first, a little boy named Felix, last Sunday. Shoulder is almost better, I'll wait until Monday to start anything big!

So hopefully I'm back a bit more regularly for the summer (Southern hemisphere), and I'll be able to keep up a bit more. It's been great being able to read everyone's posts, even if I haven't had the time to reply! :)

Thanks Sally and Niki. I'm looking forward to getting my camera out again, and being able to focus on my music lessons. I've been getting voice lessons for nearly a month now, and it's been really fun. Hopefully I can have more than snatched moments of practice. That and it's time to start organising Christmas presents. I've chosen my people who will receive stitched gifts this year; we're staying with friends in Melbourne for a week at the end of the month, so I'm stitching them a piece with their two cats they adopted this year. I'm also doing bookmarks for my 3 tutoring students and one of their younger sisters (she'd feel very left out otherwise) to encourage them to keep up with their reading over the holidays.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Congrats on finishing another school year. :toast: I can remember what a relief it was to get through that final exams week with exams and papers all due. Stitching is such a pleasure after all that work so I hope your shoulder heals completely soon. Looking forward to seeing pics of your work soon!
