Framing Question - Hanging in a Bathroom

Hi,

I just finished a lighthouse cross-stitch that I plan to hang in our bathroom. Because of the dampness, I planned on framing it and covering the stitchery with glass. However, my husband thought that if any moisture were to seep in, the glass would prevent the piece from staying dry. Now I'm not sure which is the way to go, so I'm wondering what those of you who have hung stitchery in your bathroom have done.

Thank you!

Cyndy M.

here is a similar post about the same thing. I have never placed anything in the bathroom as I don't have a true motif in there lol just a color scheme.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. I won't worry about putting it under glass, then.

Best,

I really don't think you should have a problem---I've had one in one of the bathrooms here for a long time--it is under glass and it looks fine after more than 10 yrs-

I did one for my mum and it's been hanging in her basement bathroom for at least 20 years and no problem. You could also ask the framers what they would recommend (either at a framing place or Michael's also does framing).

Thank you for your reply. Seems most people don't frame them and they do fine in a bathroom. Glad to know I don't have to worry about the moisture. Hope to find a frame this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!
